Foot Perception Navigation - Floor-Based Guidance
Overview
The soles of feet are almost constantly in contact with external environments like the floor and ground. This research proposes a walking guidance system utilizing this relationship. First, spatial perception characteristics of human plantar haptic sensation were investigated. Based on the perceptual characteristics obtained from experiments, design guidelines for haptic stimuli in a floor-based navigation system were derived.
